Fix camera and Session photo problems

Restore iPhone camera or library access, meet web upload limits, and recover Session photos that are pending or need retry.

Add before-and-after proof to the correct Session, then wait for every photo to finish uploading. Permission, file, and sync problems have different recovery paths.

Add a Session photo

Choose your platform
  1. Open the Session and find PHOTOS.
  2. Under BEFORE or AFTER, select Add Before Photo or Add After Photo.
  3. Choose an image file smaller than 5 MB.
  4. Wait for the photo to appear in the matching section.

Web uploads need a connection and do not have an offline photo queue. The file chooser accepts images; Cleanr does not directly open a browser camera flow.

  1. Open the Session and find PHOTOS.
  2. Under Before or After, select Add.
  3. In Add Photo, choose Camera or Photo Library.
  4. Capture or select the image, then wait for it to appear or show a sync status.

The Camera and Photo Library choices request separate iPhone permissions when used.

Restore iPhone access

  • If Cleanr says Camera access is required to take photos, open iPhone Settings, find Cleanr, and allow camera access.
  • If Cleanr says Photo library access is required, allow Cleanr to use the photo library in iPhone Settings.
  • Return to the Session and try the same Before or After choice again.
  • If the picker still does not open, confirm you changed access for Cleanr—not another app—and restart Cleanr.

Cleanr asks for camera or library access only when that feature is used. A notification permission does not grant photo access.

Recover a photo that did not upload

What you seeWhat to do
Photo not saved because the camera returned no usable photoRetake it. If that repeats, choose Photo Library instead.
The photo could not be read from the cameraRetake it or add an existing image from Photo Library. This file cannot be fixed by a network retry.
Pending syncKeep Cleanr and its app data on the iPhone, reconnect, then use Sync now from Schedule or reopen the Session.
Needs retryReconnect and select the retry control on the photo. Resolve it before completing the Session.
Photo not uploadedCheck the connection and try the photo again. A photo can queue offline only when Cleanr successfully made a durable local copy.
Web says the photo is too large or not an imageChoose an image smaller than 5 MB.
Existing photos fail to loadReconnect and retry or reopen the Session.

A failed photo upload blocks completion until it is resolved. A pending iPhone upload can count as queued proof and is synced before a queued completion, but verify the final photo and Session state after reconnecting.

Photos on a completed Session

Only a Business Owner can add or remove proof after a Session is complete. The owner must enter an amendment reason of at least five characters. Cleanr keeps that amendment in the proof history; a Cleaner cannot edit completed proof.

Before and after requirements depend on the business's proof settings. A photo may be optional, produce a completion warning, or be required. Use a clear view of the work and keep people, private documents, payment cards, and access codes out of the frame.
