Set up services, packages, pricing, and checklists

Build the shared Cleanr catalog, set default prices, and add repeatable checklist steps for Staff.

Cleanr uses one shared service catalog. The web calls its entries Services; the iPhone app calls the same entries Packages.

Web: Settings → Services. iPhone: More → Packages.

Before you start

For each offering, decide on a clear customer-facing name, an optional default price, whether it is taxable, an estimated duration, and the proof-of-work steps Staff should complete.

Create the first catalog item

Choose your platform
  1. As an owner, open Settings → Services.
  2. Optionally choose Add services in the Cleanr starter menu, then add prices to the imported entries. Existing names are skipped.
  3. To create one yourself, choose Add.
  4. Enter Service Name, an optional Default Price, and Taxable.
  5. Choose New Service.

To edit it, select the service name or edit icon. The active toggle controls whether it appears on new appointments.

Add its checklist

  1. Choose the checklist icon on the service row.
  2. Enter one observable step, then choose Add.
  3. Repeat, use the arrows to set the order, and remove steps that do not apply.

Cleanr adds the template when the service is used, and Staff work through the steps in the iPhone session.

  1. As an owner, open More → Packages.
  2. Tap New Package.
  3. Enter Package name. Add a default price, estimated duration, and Staff size when known.
  4. Add optional minimum price and estimated labor or material costs, then set Taxable correctly.
  5. Under Checklist, tap Add step, enter each step, and arrange the order.
  6. Tap Create Package. When editing, tap Save Package.

Package details and the checklist save together. Advanced pricing options shown on an existing package have their own Save or Archive actions and commit separately.

Write useful checklist steps

  • Start each step with a verb: “Disinfect kitchen counters,” not “Kitchen.”
  • Make completion observable. Split unrelated work into separate steps.
  • Keep property-specific access instructions on the customer property, not in a package used for every customer.
  • Put photo requirements in the relevant session workflow when proof is needed.

Prices and active status

The default price pre-fills new work and can be adjusted during appointment creation. Confirm the final line items before saving the appointment. Marking a service inactive—or archiving a package—hides it from new appointments while keeping historical records intact.

Next, book an appointment or learn how Staff start and document a session.

Troubleshooting

The item appears as Service on one screen and Package on another. That is the expected platform terminology; the underlying catalog entry is shared.

It is missing from appointment creation. Confirm the service or package is active, save the editor, then reopen the appointment form.

The checklist is missing during work. Confirm the appointment uses the intended catalog item and that the checklist was saved. A custom line item does not automatically inherit another service's checklist.
